Learning Objectives - Upon completion of the articles, are you able to:

  • Define, discuss, and encourage the development of cultural responsiveness and cultural humility.

  • Outline and define 3 integral cultural competencies that support a clinician’s awareness, knowledge, and skill set regarding the provision of culturally responsive services.
  • Define and discuss racial trauma, or race-based traumatic stress.

  • Outline ways for therapists to help reduce stigma and increase access to care for BIPOC.
  • Identify the 3 primary predispositions to substance use disorders and emotional dysregulation.
