The Life Long Effect of Adverse Childhood Experiences—ACE Study

Presented by Vincent J. Felitti, MD - 2 CE Hours

Workshop Description:

This workshop will be a PowerPoint presentation of ACE study findings, about 60-75 minutes long. This will be followed by a description of how this trauma-related information is best obtained initially by inert mechanism, how it is then explored with patients, and the major measured benefit of this basic approach as found by an outside investigator in a 130,000-person adult sample. The remaining time in the 2-hour allocation will be used for Q&A.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize the relationship of adverse childhood experiences to adult health and disease.
2. Observe how routinely to screen for adverse childhood experiences.
3. Demonstrate how to use that information efficiently and beneficially.
