Making the Most of Supervision

Presented by Carol Falender, Ph.D. - No CE Hours

Workshop Description:

Both supervisors and supervisees have significant responsibilities to make the most out of clinical supervision. To be successful, supervision needs to be collaborative with supervisees feeling empowered and proactive, competent supervisors, and both always mindful that supervisors hold the ultimate responsibility for the clients and for gatekeeping or screening suitability of supervisees to enter the practice. Supervisees need confidence to take risks, to grow and develop, and supervisors need competence to develop the supervisory relationship, identify strains and ruptures, guide and support clinical practice, address emotional reactivity, and assume and model ethical and legal responsibility.
