Workshop Description:
Ann Tran Lien and Michael Griffin review the responsibilities of a mandated reporter of child abuse or neglect in California, as well as examine the categories of “child abuse” and “neglect” as defined in the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act. Ms.Tran and Mr. Griffin discuss the common questions and misconceptions regarding CANRA, and review the reporting procedures as required by the Act.

1. Identify the categories of “child abuse” and “neglect” under the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
2. Recognize your obligations and duties as a mandated reporter in California.
3. Summarize the procedures on how, when, and where to file a Child Abuse and Neglect report.
4. Improve your understanding of the definitions provided in the Child Abuse and . Neglect Reporting Act, for each of the categories of abuse and neglect.
