Description

CAMFT Course Page

Course Description:
Complex rules and overlapping requirements can make minors' consent for therapy seem like an impossibly difficult legal issue for clinicians to master. However, a deeper understanding of the laws at play reveals that minor consent laws, in fact...are as easy as 1, 2, 3!

In this workshop, CAMFT staff attorney Bradley Muldrow, JD will provide an overview of the laws governing minors' consent-based mental health treatment, including the three steps therapists must follow to initiate such treatment. The workshop will also address special rules prelicensed therapists must follow when offering treatment via minors' consent, and new regulations pertaining to insurance coverage for such services.
