This presentation will examine the factors of Covid bereavement that may lead to prolonged and complicated grief. Special attention will focus on evidenced based strategies appropriate for the treatment of multiple types of losses. You will acquire the skills to tailor clinical interventions to the unique needs of each client’s grief experiences.

Learning Objectives:
 
The presentation will provide an overview of:
  • Name three theoretical frameworks and three interventions in the grief and loss field through didactic and experiential learning for dealing with grieving clients
  • Know how to plan and implement appropriate assessments, interventions, and strategies to help individuals and families cope with loss and grief to improve treatment outcomes.
  • Explain the difference between depression, grief, and prolonged/complicated grief.
  • Understand at least three practical strategies through informative learning for dealing with unpredictability and uncertainty with the transitioning into in-person sessions.
